About the university:

Gazi University, whose foundations were laid in 1926 under the instructions of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was opened under the name of "Teachers' Intermediate School and Institute of Education". It was renamed “Gazi Middle School for Teachers and Institute of Education” in 1929, renamed “Gazi Institute of Education” in 1976, and acquired the identity of “Gazi University” in 1982.
