About the university:

Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) is a well-established state university established in 1975 with the aim of bringing a breath of fresh air and contributing to the economic, cultural and social life of the Black Sea region.

The university was founded as a regional university and left behind 45 years in accordance with its mission. It is one of the strongest research and education institutions in our country, which embraces universal values and works with intellectual precision to bring innovations for the benefit of individuals and society.

Ondokuz Mayıs University, which takes its name from the date "19 May 1919" when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk set foot in Samsun with the Bandırma ferry, has 19 faculties, 1 faculty, 12 vocational colleges, 2 institutes, 1 conservatory and 28 applied research centers.
